Congrats, Magneuris!
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Triple A: Memphis 15 - Iowa 9

  • Todd Cunningham ($F): 3-5, HR, 2 RBI, K

  • Nick Martini (LF): 2-5, R, 3B, RBI, 2 K

  • Luke Voit (1B): 0-4, R, BB

  • Patrick Wisdom (3B): 2-4, 3 R, 2 HR, 5 RBI, BB, K

  • Harrison Bader (CF): 3-5, 3 R, 2 2B, K

  • Paul DeJong (SS): 2-5, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, K

  • Breyvic Valera (PH): 1-1, R, RBI

  • Josh Zeid (SP): 5.1 IP, 10 H, 7 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 2 HR

  • Chris Ellis (RP): .2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 2 K

Memphis trailed 8-2 heading into the 7th inning, they torched the Cubs bullpen for 13 runs over the final three frames to win easily...Memphis leads the league in home runs and doubles and has three players among the top 10 in homers...Josh Zeid's strikeout and walk numbers haven't been great, but he has also been incredibly unlucky giving up homers on almost a quarter of the fly balls he's allowed this season.

Double A: Tulsa 9 - Springfield 3

  • Oscar Mercado (LF): 1-4, R, HR, RBI, 2 K

  • Bruce Caldwell (3B): 0-4, 3 K
  • Jose Adolis Garcia (CF): 1-4, R

  • Anthony Garcia (RF): 1-4, 2 K
  • Alex Mejia (SS): 1-3, R

  • Gabriel Lino (C): 1-3, 2B, RBI, BB, 2 K
  • Dakota Hudson (SP): 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K

  • Daniel Bard (RP): .1 IP, 0 H, 3 R, 3 BB

  • Blake McKnight (RP): .2 IP, 2 H, 5 R, BB, HR

Oscar Mercado's home run was his 4th of the season season. He had 7 career homers coming into this year. Mercado's franchise record 20 game hitting ended on Saturday, but he's started a new one picking up a hit in both games since. His wRC+ sits at 164 for the season...Dakota Hudson had a solid night, pitching 6 shutout innings before handing a 3 run lead over the bullpen...I'll just leave this passage in here from last Tuesday's DFR: "Speaking of which, this looks like it may be the end for Daniel Bard, and it's tough to watch." Bard walked 3 of the 4 batters he face before turning the ball over to Blake McKnight.

Class A Advanced: Fort Myers 5 - Palm Beach 2

  • Darren Seferina (2B): 1-4, K

  • Jeremy Martinez (DH): 0-3, BB
  • Casey Turgeon (3B): 0-4, K
  • Danny Diekroeger (1B): 1-4, R, 2B, K

  • Edmundo Sosa (SS): 2-4, K

  • Jose Godoy (C) : 0-4, K

  • Randy Arozarena (LF): 1-3, R, HR, RBI, K
  • Jake Woodford (SP): 6 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Jake Woodford has had a bumpy first month in the Florida State League. He’s been filling up the strike zone, getting grounders and avoiding walks, but his already modest K% has dipped dangerously close to single digits. He hasn’t gotten much help from his defense either. Woodford has been tagged for a league high 10 unearned runs this season.

Class A: West Michigan 7 - Peoria 2

  • Tommy Edman (SS): 0-3, BB, R

  • Andrew Knizner (C): 1-4, HR, RBI, K

  • Dylan Carlson (LF): 1-3, 2 K

  • Nick Plummer (CF): 0-2, BB, 2 K
  • Jordan Hicks (SP): 0.2 IP 1 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1BB, 2 K

  • Ronnie Williams (RP): 3.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 5 K, HR
  • Frederis Parra (RP): 2.2 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K

Nick Plummer returned to the lineup from the DL. He was making his first appearance since April 13th. And at last the Chiefs super young outfield is back together again...Jordan Hicks left the game after throwing only 34 pitches, he was pulled from the game in the middle of an at-bat, turned the ball over to Ronnie Williams...Frederis Parra was making his first appearance after being called up from extended spring training.
