Memphis played a double-header, and the folks in Metarie (Metarians?) were treated to either wonderful pitching or terrible hitting as the Zephyrs and Redbirds combined for 3 runs over 14 innings. Luke Weaver made his debut and Mike Mayers' teammates wasted a fantastic effort on his part. The rest of the affiliates combined to go 3-3 with a suspended game thrown in there as well as State College and the DSL squad continue to steamroll their respective leagues. Chris Chinea and Matt Fiedler were among the more notable names to homer. On to the box scores.

- Landon Beck (RP): 2.2 IP, 3 H, R, 3 BB, 2 K
For whatever it's worth (absolutely nothing), Oscar Mercado has been a marginally better offensive player since becoming the full time center fielder. Dragging his slash stats up by 11 14 and 19 points respectively and stealing 5 bases over 13 games.
Class A: Cedar Rapids 8 - Peoria 4
- Magneuris Sierra (CF): 0-2, 2 BB, SB
- Jose Martinez (SS): 0-3, BB
- Eliezer Alvarez (DH): 0-4, R
- Brian O'Keefe (C): 1-3, 2 R, 2B, RBI, BB, K
- Chris Chinea (1B): 2-4, R, HR, 2 RBI
- Jake Woodford (SP): 3 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 3 K
Eliezer Alvarez returned to action over the weekend, he seemed like he picked up where he had left off when he was injured, but is 1-9 since homering in his first game back...Magneuris Sierra's stolen base was his 27th of the year. After struggling at the beginning of the year he has clawed his way up to a 108 wRC+. It is buoyed by a .362 BABIP, but he doesn't walk or hit for power, and he puts the ball in play a lot, so any offensive contribution he provides will likely be mostly in the form of a BABIP aided batting average, and base running.
Class A Short Season: State College 4 - Vermont 2
- Tommy Edman (SS): 1-5, RBI, K
- Jeremy Martinez (C): 0-3, 2 BB
- Ricardo Bautista (RF): 1-4, R, K
- Danny Hudzina (3B): 2-3, R, BB, K
- Mick Fennell (LF): 1-3, R, BB
- Carson Cross (SP): 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
State College has jumped out to the best record in the New York-Penn League so far with a 35-15 mark. That record has been driven largely by the offense which has embraced the two good outcomes and eschewed the bad one. Spikes hitters are in the the top 3 in R, HR, and BB and second to last in strike outs. 2016 second day draft picks Tommy Edman and Jeremy Martinez rank in the top five in both wRC+ and BB% and the bottom five in K%.
Rookie: Bristol 4 - Johnson City 3 (7 Innings)
- Caleb Lopes (2B): 0-3, BB
- Allen Cordoba (SS): 2-4, SB
- Matt Fiedler (LF): 2-4, 2B, RBI, K
- Andrew Knizner (DH): 0-2, BB, K
- Bryce Denton (3B): 0-3
- Jonathan Rivera (RF): 1-3, R, K
- Frederis Parra (SP): 7 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 1 HR
