Birds:

Jorge Rodriguez, 21, (SS-A): 5 IP, H, 6 K, 2 BB

Rodriguez has flown a bit under the radar, but that's not due to performance so much as all the talent in the Cardinals system that takes residence on the bump and him being a bit old for his league at every stop on the minor league trail so far. That said, over his last 37 innings he's held opposing hitters to a .144 batting average with a K/BB ration of 4-1.

Darren Seferina, 21, (A): 2-3, R, 2 SB

Seferina is hitting .408/.427/.662 in June with a pair of homers and 7 stolen bases, which brings his season line up to .297/.368/.462.

Kolten Wong's line in 222 PA's in A ball at age 21: .335/.401/.510.

Not too far off, honestly. (And yes, I'm mostly saying this because I've compared them a lot in the past and that comparison continues to look apt)

Rob Kaminsky, 20, (A+): 6 IP, 7 H, 2 R, ER, 8 K, 0 BB

Another dominant outing from the lefty, forcing 7 more groundouts while scattering 7 hits.  If the command continues to improve like it has the last few starts, there's just not much more for him to prove in High A and nobody pitching well enough in Springfield to keep him from going up to the Texas League rotation.

Bums:

Sprinfield Offense/Memphis Offense: 8 hits and 0 runs between the squads.

Bleccchhhhhh. Do better tomorrow or maybe Shildt should herd you all into the showers, throw some bats around, and make a speech about lollygaggers.  Seriously.

Corey Baker, 25, (AA): 1 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, HR

Giving up a grand slam in the first inning isn't the best way to start a game.

Tyler Lyons, 27, (AAA): 3 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, BB, 4 K

He's been bounced up and down from the minors to the majors and awful lot this season which I'm sure has upset his between starts routine. Still, got to expect better from a 27 year old in AAA.
