An homage to Mike Shildt, Cardinals Manager (2018-2021) and philosophical differences

I.... had... the time of my liiiife.

MLB: Miami Marlins at St. Louis Cardinals Scott Kane-USA TODAY Sports

As you might be aware Mike Shildt is out as the Cardinals Manager for reasons that are unclear, but have been summed up as “philosophical differences”. I am definitely going to keep the vague answer in my lexicon as a prepared response for things I don’t want to discuss.

“Why wasn’t your post for yesterday ready?”
“Philosophical differences.”

“What happened with that guy your were seeing?”
“Philosophical differences.”

“Why won’t the Cardinals give you writer’s credentials?”
“Philosophical differences.”

“Why do you think Jean-Jacques Rousseau and David Humes had a falling out?”
“Philosophical differences.”

It is perfect!

Anyway in his 3+ seasons as the Cardinals manager Mike Shildt became known as a man that didn’t mince words. With that in mind, here are some of favorite Mike Shildt moments.

H/T to Twitter for helping me find the Instagram-lived speech.
