Outside of the Cardinals I have not really been following baseball very closely this year. To be honest, I haven’t even really been following the Cardinals season that closely. In my defense, there is a lot going on and it has really drawn my attention away from the weird 2020 MLB season. I am sure by now other teams have had walk-off wins — it seems very unlikely that one has not — but I have not seen one myself. A lot of weird exceptions that this mid-pandemic season might bring have already come to mind, but I must admit, what teams will do to celebrate a walk-off hit was not one of them.
On Thursday night we found out though, and it is just as awkward as you might have imagined.
Wainwright laughed and admitted the Cardinals probably looked like they weren't sure what to do after the walk-off.

"The whole world is operating at about half-speed right now, so why would we be any different?"
Wong said he almost grabbed a cup of water to throw on himself.
