It is Spring Training. None of the games count towards anything official. They are tune-ups for veterans like Yadier Molina with guaranteed spots, a chance to crack the roster for those on the outskirts — your Yairo Muñoz-types —, and a chance to get some experience and attention for youngsters like Matthew Liberatore that might be a few years away. So while these games are technically baseball and still fun and useful, no one really expects to be wowed.
