It was about three weeks ago that Paul DeJong sent a tower blast toward the ‘M’ in the “Big Mac Land” sign. The impact shattered the glass light bulbs in the letter, rendering it inoperable. If you missed it, do not worry — I have you covered:

Hey Mac, you're going to pay for that! pic.twitter.com/h93D5lwXQq— St. Louis Cardinals (@Cardinals) August 20, 2019
For several weeks Big Mac Land was ‘M’-less, but finally the ‘M’ is set to return, rising from the ashes like a phoenix. Or something... whatever. Anyway, DeJong wants to make things right. He broke the ‘M’, so he is prepared to “buy” a new one.
Paul DeJong will “Purchase” the M he broke in the Big Mac Land sign with a 22-thousand dollar donation to Ronald McDonald House and Cardinals Care. Nice guy. #STLCards— Jim Hayes (@TheCatOnFox) September 16, 2019
Ronald McDonald House Charities, per the foundation’s mission statement, aims “to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families.” Cardinals Care is also dedicated to helping children in need in the St. Louis area by teaming up with the Cardinals organization. DeJong’s blast has lead to donations to both these worthy causes. It is a delightful end to a delightful story.
