The game Yadier Molina won with his bat - A Hunt and Peck

That was fun!

MLB: Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

On Wednesday afternoon the Cardinals lost the final game of their series against the Brewers after winning the first two games. While they still won the series, at this time of the year any loss feels like a missed opportunity. We are not here to discuss that, though. Instead, we want to look at game two of the series.

The Cardinals ended up winning that game 6-3. After getting down by one run early in the game, Yadier Molina came through for the Birdos to tie it up with a solo shot:

In the seventh, Yadi homered again — this time a two-run shot — to give the Cardinals the lead:

He followed that up with a double for his final hit of the game.

Since enduring multiple thumb injuries, Molina has struggled to achieve the success he achieved back in 2010 through 2013. Though he hasn’t show that same offensive prowess of years past, he has still been able to come through when the team needs him most. So often, in fact, that the Cardinals put together a video of those times.

Of course, even as other aspects of his game have declined he still has the arm.
