The Trade Deadline is tomorrow so here are some rumors! - A Hunt and Peck

What. Will. Mo. Do?

MLB: New York Mets at St. Louis Cardinals Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

The Major League Baseball Trade Deadline is tomorrow and if you are anything like me, you have been refreshing MLB Trade Rumors all day, thirsty for some type of scoop. If you are also like me, you might be disappointed by the Big Ole Nothin’ that has happened on the Cardinals page.

I wish I had some better rumors to share, but so far there is diddly squat. So here is what we know... (courtesy of MLB Trade Rumors)

Chasen Shreve cleared waivers

Cool.

The Cardinals acquired a left-handed reliever

Specifically the Cardinals acquired Zac Rosscup in exchange for cash. He has not been added to the forty man, so this was essentially a depth move. The best part about it is that it made me look smart.

The Cardinals optioned Harrison Bader

In his place they brought up Lane Thomas. Skyricesq discusses it in depth here.

The Cardinals are looking at starting pitching

Per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Cardinals are looking for a starter under team control beyond 2019. That would explain why they were never connected to Marcus Stroman and why we don’t hear about them with Noah Syndergaard. (Also, it seems weird the Mets would acquire Stroman and trade Syndergaard, right? Or no?) The team has not been connected with any starter really so far this Trade Deadline.

The Cardinals still want a left-handed reliever

The team added to their depth, but are still looking for a lefty to make an impact at the major-league level.

And that is all I got! Stay tuned for tomorrow where we try to start some rumors.
