The Cardinals are going to YouTube - A Hunt and Peck

For like, two games.

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

This post is serving as a public service announcement: the Cardinals will be on YouTube. You may remember last season Major League Baseball and Facebook struck a deal to air several baseball games on the platform. Feelings were... mixed? Okay, fine, most people did not like it. This year MLB has agreed to a similar deal with YouTube.

The cool thing about this idea — broadcasting games on social media sites and video-sharing sites like Facebook and YouTube — is that the games are broadcast free. Their is no need for cable, no need for MLB.tv, and really no need for a television. The issue is people that watch the games day in and day out cannot watch the games on the service they paid to. This problem would easily be solved by just airing the games on the new platform in addition to the already existing ones, but that does not appear to ever become the plan for some reason.

So with all that being said, if you are wanting to tune into to watch the Cardinals take on the Dodgers on August 7 or battle the Diamondbacks on September 25, you will have to head on over to youtube.com/mlb. The games will not be shown on cable, satellite, antenna, MLB.tv, or however you are choosing to watch the Cardinals.
