It is Opening Day in the three-one-four
The long offseason over
Gosh, what a bore!

It is finally here
The day we await
Jack Flaherty on the mound
Yadi behind the plate

but I like it a lot

There is much do to
Crowds will come on in forces
Hall of Famers to see
and of course HORSES!

They will circle the rotunda
to a cheery tune:

Then the game will start
The first pitch will be thrown
The game will go on
Until the outcome is known

Then it will be over
Another game in the books
The season’s end one step closer.

The game is nearly here
There is no more to say
Prepare yourselves, friends
It is Opening Day!
