Nolan Gorman is one of Baseball America’s Hottest Prospects - A Hunt and Peck

NOLAN GORMAN!

MLB: Spring Training-St. Louis Cardinals at Washington Nationals Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

I am not about to try to step on anyone’s beat here — I do not have the knowledge to even consider attempting that. I will leave the prospect analysis to the experts writing up the Daily Farm Reports. Even a prospect simpleton like myself has heard of Nolan Gorman, though. (There is a small group of people I know that like to call him Norman Gorman because it rhymes. It has gotten to the point where I have to think twice about what his actual name is.)

Lately Nolan Gorman has been tearing up the Midwest League with the Peoria Chiefs. The 18-almost-19-year old has clubbed four homers, a triple, and five doubles so far in 2019, batting .347/.411/.735. His success at the plate has earned him a spot on Baseball America’s Hot Sheet for this week, just behind Luis Robert of the White Sox system.

Also earning a spot on the list is Springfield Cardinals Dylan Carlson, a 20-year-old outfielder hitting .288/.328/.538 with two home runs (one against Clayton Kershaw!), one triple, and five doubles.

The Cardinals crop of young talent continues to impress!
