The best story of the MLB offseason so far - A Hunt and Peck

(in my humble opinion)

Bryce Harper signed yesterday. Manny Machado signed like a week ago. There are still some free agents left to sign, but this post is not about any of that. It is about the best story of the offseason - or at least my favorite story and therefore the best for the purposes of this post.

This is about Brandon Nimmo.

Nimmo is an outfielder for the New York Mets. I imagine as a professional athlete he is trying to make smart choices about his diet. This probably lends to cooking at home more often than going out to eat. Maybe this is a new venture for the young man, maybe he has been cooking all his life... What happened next suggests the former, however.

I like to think Nimmos must have been really happy after completing the cooking of this meal. He might have even beamed with pride. He was excited, a new discovery of the love of cooking now deep in his heart

Poor Nimmo must have been so discouraged. Then, a twist:

It was the flu! Nimmo did not give himself food poisoning. You did a great job, Brandon. Do not give up - keep cooking!
