There are quite a few free agent rumors swirling around the St. Louis Cardinals lately. There is some interest in Marcell Ozuna, some “intrigue” in Dallas Keuchel, and the team was at one point linked to Japanese centerfielder Shogo Akiyama (though the Rays are reportedly in strong contention to sign him). Perhaps the most certain rumor so far though is the one regarding the Cardinals interest in Kwang-hyun Kim. Per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic:

Kim is currently a starting pitcher with the Korea Baseball Organization. At 31 years old he has been in the KBO since 2007, missing 2017 with Tommy John surgery. Per MLB Trade Rumors:

Kim is coming off an outstanding run as a member of SK Wyverns of the KBO, where he recorded a 3.27 ERA with 7.8 K/9 against 3.5 BB/9 across 1,673 2/3 innings before the club posted him.

The Cardinals have until January 5 to sign Kim. We have more in-depth analysis coming your way soon!
