I am not going to make the case that Scott Rolen is a Hall of Famer. I am not going to do that because I did it last year. No matter the metric one uses for consideration, be it Wins Above Replacement, overall career, peak, traditional statics, awards won, Scott Rolen belongs.
And yet...
According to this tracker he will once again not have the necessary votes.
Maybe this is just something that is going to take a few years - this is only Rolen’s second time up for election. Meanwhile the backlog of qualified players gets fuller and fuller and more talented players fall off. Hopefully Rolen sticks around.
In the meantime. let’s look at some Scott Rolen highlights!
