After making a start on May 13, Adam Wainwright appeared to have aggrevating his throwing elbow and was placed on the 60-day Disabled List. Wainwright is in the final year of a five-year extension signed back in 2013. It is most likely a disappointing conclusion to what was otherwise a excellent and productive tenure wearing the Birds on the Bat.
Though he cannot pitch, that does not mean Waino plans to waste his time. He can often be seen mentoring younger pitchers and passing on advice and wisdom his fourteen-year career has bestowed him with. His lively personality also keeps the dugout loose and spirits high, which is important during the long grind of the baseball season.
He is also playing pranks. This one comes in retaliation of a prank played on him by former Cardinal and current Padres coach Skip Schumaker.
This is my good friend, former teammate, @Padres coach, and @Cardinals legend Skip Schumaker. He was worried about me being skinny in San Diego so he had food charged and delivered to my room at 6:15...a.m! Just wanted to show my appreciation. #payback #getawayday pic.twitter.com/9kutglO1wu— Adam Wainwright (@UncleCharlie50) June 14, 2018
