Major League Baseball has recently unveiled the design for the uniforms for the 2018 special events. These events include:
Jackie Robinson Day
Memorial Day Weekend
Independence Day Weekend
In the league’s official release, it details exactly what the uniforms will look like. You can read more about it here. A quick summary:
On Jackie Robinson Day all players and field personnelle will wear number 42. There will also be a commemorative patch on the caps, jersey sleaves, and the socks will feature the number as well. The socks will look something like this:
On Mother’s Day the uniforms will feature pink hats and pink socks, and while the jerseys will stay mostly the same with the exception of a pink ribbon on the chest.
Father’s Day will be similar to Mother’s Day, except the accent color will be pink instead of blue.
On Memorial Day, players will wear the infamous camouflage hats with a matching jersey.
Independence Day will feature the stars and stripes caps with jerseys featuring a red, white, and blue team logo and matching socks. The exception is the Toronto Blue Days, who will wear their red alternate jerseys and red hats with a Maple Leaf on Canada Day, which is July 1. An interesting feature is on the inside of the brim of the hats for the U.S. teams. There it has the beginning to the preamble of the Constitution: “We the people”. This has nothing really to do with the signing of Declaration of Independence, which is what is being celebrated on July 4, but whatever, it looks cool.
