The Cardinals will probably not sign Craig Kimbrel - A Hunt and Peck

Just a hunch.

Craig Kimbrel. He is 30 years old, was drafted by the Braves in 2008 and then spent the following seven years in the organization, making his major league debut in 2010. He signed a four-year deal with the club in 2014 with a 2018 team option. After a trade, Kimbrel was a member of the San Diego Padres in 2015 and then was with the Boston Red Sox from 2016 to 2018. He has been one of the top closers in baseball since his debut, accumulating 19.0 fWAR and amassing 333 saves in over 532 innings pitched.

Now Craig Kimbrel is a free agent and he wants a long-term contract, according to Buster Olney:

This is typically the kind of deal the Cardinals tend to avoid. Just a guess here, but Craig Kimbrel probably will not be wearing the Birds on the Bat anytime soon.

(So now it definitely is gonna happen, isn’t it?)
