A potential free agent option for the Cardinals is reportedly no longer. According to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic, Josh Donaldson, former Blue Jays third baseman, has agreed to a contract with the Atlanta Braves:
Donaldson in agreement with #Braves on one-year, $23M free-agent contract, sources tell The Athletic. Deal is pending a physical.

Many thought Donaldson would be a good fit with the Cardinals, but worried about his age and injury history. Perhaps that was why a one-year deal was ultimately agreed upon by both parties... [squints] in November? Perplexing.
Regardless, things are happening or at least have happened.
