Many Cardinals fans might already be aware, but Yadier Molina has been playing in Japan for MLB’s Japan Series. Those that have been following his performance in the showcase know that Yadi has been doing quite well. In fact, he had another eventful game on Sunday where he hit a home run:

He also picked a runner off:

Thou shalt not.

While his competitive nature would not allow him to put forth anything other than his best effort, Yadi also understands that the Japan Series is a showcase. He intends to have fun.

And he is!

This grin reminds me of another delightful Yadi moment:

And finally, perhaps the best moment, is Yadi getting caught trying to steal second, stuck in a rundown, and gracefully bowing out of that rundown by running back to the dugout:

He tried, until he didn’t, but he still had fun and entertained, which is probably exactly what the Cardinals thirty-six year-old backstop should be doing for this showcase.
