On this day in 2013, Adam Wainwright dominated the Pirates - A Hunt and Peck

It was a game 5 to remember.

Adam Wainwright has had a lot of big-game moments. He was a closer on a World Series winning team, so big moments in big games were kind of his thing. What had eluded him, however, was a big moment in a big game as a starter. Most fans should recall that during the Cardinals big post season run in 2011, Wainwright was on the sidelines, having had Tommy John surgery before the season had even started. The following postseason in 2012, Waino was able to pitch, but in his first year back, was not the same Cy Young candidate the team has seen in 2009 and 2010.

In 2013 Adam Wainwright was healthy and the Cardinals were in the postseason yet again. The rest is history.
