Scott Rolen is an athletic freak. We all know this. This is why he was such a great baseball player. His size and strength combined with body control and grace and a desire to succeed made him agile at third base with a cannon for an arm. He has soft hands for fielding bad hops, the range to field balls well out of his position, the agility to bounce up after a dive, and the arm strength and accuracy to make the perfect throw. It is these qualities that should make him a Hall of Famer.

So of course he was good at basketball. Here is video of him dropping twenty-four points in one quarter (an eight minute quarter with no shot clock) in a high school basketball playoff game.

I mean, he almost single-handedly won the game for his team:

Down 18 points with five minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Rolen absolutely caught fire from deep, draining seven threes down the stretch to cut the deficit to just one point with just 12 seconds left. Unfortunately his Jasper High Wildcats couldn’t complete the comeback, and ended up losing to the Forest Park High Rangers by five.

He is h*cking incredibe.
