A few months ago, our very own John Fleming wrote a compelling article urging the St. Louis Cardinals to host a Pride Night. Shortly after, the Cardinals announced their intention to host such an event. The Cardinals will be partnering up with Pride St. Louis in an effort to reach out to LGBT fans, along with friends and family members in what will be the first of hopefully many such nights hosted by the team.
Baseball is a sport that is meant to be shared regardless of a person’s nationality, race, sex, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation. The Cardinals Pride Night will hopefully serve as an example of this and be another step in the direction of inclusion. Baseball is the best - everyone should feel invited to love it.
