Who are the fastest Cardinals? - A Hunt and Peck

You think you know, but do you know, ya know?

Much has been made about the Cardinals and how the team is not... the fleetest of foot. But how much of that is the truth versus what is anecdotal? Well, thanks to StatCast and "Sprint Speed"*, we can now get a good gauge of the Cardinals speed. The results might surprise you. Or not. Either way, we are going to find out the answer.

*Per the StatCast glossary:

Sprint Speed is a Statcast metric that aims to more precisely quantify speed by measuring how many feet per second a player runs in his fastest one-second window.

Of course, this does not include pitchers, which would be an interesting addition to the mix, though getting a Sprint Speed reading from pitchers is probably difficult. While not exact, it fits about what you would expect. Now for fun, let’s throw in the slowest and fastest players in Major League Baseball...
