On this day in 2013, the Cardinals signed Allen Craig to an extension - A Hunt and Peck

It was a good run.

Ah Allen Craig. While most Cardinal fans now only remember his unfortunate and startlingly rapid decent into baseball oblivion, there was once a time when he was a key cog in the Cardinals lineup. His uncanny knack for timely hitting earned him the nickname the "RBI machine". Craig’s above average bat and ability to play several positions made him an ideal candidate for a contract extension. On March 8, 2013 the Cardinals inked Craig to a five-year, $31 million deal.

Though it ultimately did not work out with Allen Craig and the Cardinals, there were still some fine memories made.

Thanks Allen!
