A few weeks ago Phil Sklar from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum contacted me about a bobblehead they were featuring with a very generous offer to send one to me. If you have been paying attention to anything I have ever written, you are probably aware of my critically-acclaimed work on this site about my love for bobbleheads. So to say I was excited about this is probably an understatement. I checked the mail every day hoping it was there.

Now I had this whole plan to take the bobblehead outside and take these cool photos of it in the grass, maybe on a baseball field, but alas, it is cold and I did not have time. But let me tell you, it is nice.

Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum

It is heavy, I would guess around three to four pounds, and there are no spots from paint running or any type of defect. It is very clear that it is well-made and durable. The best part, in my opinion, is that the heads actually bobble! My friend’s children were over and wanted to play with it immediately upon seeing the box. I was terrified they, in their toddler enthusiasm, were going to break the heads off, but it held up. The kiddos immediately recognized the rivalry aspect as well, each choosing a mascot and saying “That’s my mommy” back and forth. It was pretty cute.

According to Phil this is the second rivalry bobblehead they produced (the first being the Cubs-Brewers I-94). As someone with both Cardinals fans and Cubs fans in his family, it is a particularly special one to him. As for the Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, he and the co-founder came up with idea around four years ago after becoming inspired by a bobblehead giveaway from the minor league baseball team in Rockford, Illinois. As their collections grew, so did their interest, ultimately leading them to produce their own (the first being a bobblehead to honor the manager for the Milwaukee Panthers and Special Olympian, Michael Poll). From there, they have continued to produce more bobbleheads, creating a one-of-a-kind Hall of Fame and Museum in the process. A special thanks to Phil Sklar for further enabling my bobblehead problem!
