In the earlier 2000s, Perdro Martínez established the Pedro Martínez Charity with the mission to, according to the website “improve the lives of youth at risk and their families through education, arts, sports, healthcare and life skills, all with a holistic approach. Our vision is to expand to other parts of the island and empower children and locals with the understanding that knowledge is power.” It is a beautiful goal, and one that Carlos Martínez, having started his own foundation with similar goals of helping underprivileged youth, shares. Carlos showed his support by attending an event hosted by the Pedro Martínez Charity.
Of course, Carlos is often referred to as “little/baby Pedro”, so seeing him alongside “grownup Pedro” as well as other big name Dominican players like David Ortiz and Macell Ozuna is pretty cool.
