About a year ago, shortstop Aledmys Diaz was removed from the Cardinals forty man roster to make room for *puts on reading glasses* Dan Johnson. Diaz then passed through waivers, with none of the other twenty-nine teams willing to take a chance on him and the $5 million owed to him. We have been talking about Diaz and the adjustments he has made for quite some time here at Viva el Birdos. Well, after being dropped from the forty-man that fateful day, Diaz made an adjustment - one that might have changed his life and altered the course of history.

He added a leg kick.

Per Eno Sarris of Fangraphs:

"I added a leg kick... It helped with my timing, I struggled with my first two months last year in the minors, so I added a leg kick and that changed everything."

The full quote also mentions briefly that Diaz changed his approach at the plate. Check it out!
