Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports that Hall of Famer Lou Brock was in good spirits Thursday in a local rehabilitation center after losing part of his left leg. Brock is feeling so well, in fact, he claimed he could still beat Cardinal catcher Yadier Molina in a foot race.

The all-time National League leader in stolen bases at 938, even joked that he would be able to outrun a certain Cardinals Gold Glove catcher (Yadier Molina) whose speed is not one of his several strong points.

His eyes twinkling, Brock said, "You can print this. I think I can beat him."

Brock hopes that with the use of a prosthetic he will be able to make the Cardinals Opening Day on April 11.

I do not want to spoil the whole article, but you definitely need to check it out for an all time great Mike Shannon quote, that while technically is not a "Shannonism", still rivals some of his best.
