St. Louis Cardinals Injury News
Aledmys Diaz is going to be okay
Shortstop Aledmys Diaz exited the game Monday night against the Kansas City Royals during the top of the ninth inning after a foul ball bounced off the plate and hit him near his right eye. He was still undergoing routine tests, but he was able to report that although he was initially scared the damage had been worse, he considers himself lucky that it was not. Diaz will have a nice shiner, but appears to otherwise be okay as he was able to open his right eye and his vision was normal. The Cardinals expect him back in the lineup in a few days. THANK GOODNESS!
