The system went 4-and-1 and enjoyed effective starting pitching from Richard Castillo (Springfield), Joe Cuda (Palm Beach), and Chris Perry (Peoria). Xavier Scruggs did his three-true-outcome thing for Springfield. Juan Herrera tallied his first hits in the Cardinals' system and Jonathan Rodriguez continued mashing in Palm Beach.

  • Xavier Scruggs was 2-for-3 with a HR (24), walk, and strikeout.
  • Ruben Gotay was 2-for-4 with a double.
  • Starlin Rodriguez, playing LF, was 2-for-3.
  • Colin Walsh singled.
  • James Ramsey walked twice. Piscotty walked once.
  • Richard Castillo tossed 7 innings of 2 run ball. Of the 3 hits he allowed, 2 were solo homers. He walked 2, struck out 4, and recorded more groundouts (10) than airouts (7).
  • Justin Wright struck out 1 in his inning but opened the 9th by hitting a batter. Jose Almarante retired the next 2 batters before Cody Stanley ended the game by throwing out a runner trying to steal second base.
  • Jonathan Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a HR (15) and walk.
  • Jacob Wilson was 1-for-4 with a HR (2nd at PB) and walk.
  • Danny Stienstra was 2-for-5 with a double.
  • Alex Mejia was 3-for-5.
  • David Popkins singled and walked twice.
  • Anthony Garcia walked 3 times and struck out once.
  • Joe Cuda limited Jupiter to 3 hits in 7 scoreless innings that included 3 strikeouts and more groundouts (9) than airouts (5).
  • Iden Nazario (1 IP, 2 K) and Logan Billbrough (1 IP, 1 H, 1 K) handled the 8th and 9th innings, respectively.
  • Charlie Tilson was 2-for-4 with a triple.
  • Jordan Walton was 2-for-4 with a double.
  • Juan Herrera, newly acquired SS from the Indians, recorded his first hits in the Cardinals' system, going 3-for-3 at the bottom of Peoria's lineup. He also had a stolen base.
  • Breyvic Valera was 2-for-4 with his 9th and 10th stolen bases. He's been caught stealing 7 times this season, so he has some work to do on this part of his game.
  • Chris Perry allowed 1 run on 7 hits and 4 strikeouts in 7 innings pitched.
  • Joe Donofrio then struck out 5 over the final 2 innings.
  • Brett Wiley was 2-for-3 with a HR (1) and 2 walks.
  • Steven Ramos was 1-for-4 with a double and walk.
  • Cesar Valera was 2-for-4.
  • Carson Kelly was 2-for-5 with a double.
  • Victor De Leon pitched 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts.
  • Jhonny Polanco struck out 2 over 2 scoreless innings that included 1 hit.
  • Michael Aldrete was roughed up for 3 runs on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts in 2.1 innings.
  • Jeff Rauh walked two but also struck out 2 to secure the win in the 9th inning.
