A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals' farm system.

Update on playoff chances with about 1.5 weeks left in the season: Memphis is 2 games back of Omaha. Springfield is 1 game back of Arkansas. State College is tied with Jamestown.

Memphis 7, Iowa 1

St. Lucie 6, Palm Beach 4 (resumed from 8/20)

  • Jesus Montero was 2-for-4 with a double.
  • Alex Mejia was 2-for-5 with a double.
  • David Popkins was 1-for-5 with a double.
  • Danny Stienstra singled and walked.
  • Joe Cuda allowed 9 hits and 4 runs (2 earned) in just 4.2 innings that included 3 strikeouts.
  • Corey Baker allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and 1 strikeout in 1.2 innings.
  • Dean Kiekhefer threw 1.2 perfect innings (0 Ks, 0 BBs).
  • Logan Billbrough allowed 2 hits but struck out 1 in his inning.

St. Lucie 0, Palm Beach 7 (7 innings)

  • David Popkins was 2-for-3 with a walk batting leadoff.
  • Alex Mejia was 1-for-3 with a double and walk.
  • Patrick Wisdom was 2-for-3 with a double and walk.
  • Kurt Heyer only permitted 4 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings that included 3 strikeouts.
  • Ronnie Shaban pitched a perfect 7th inning.

Burlington 1, Peoria 2

  • Nick Martini was 2-for-3 with a HR (1), walk, and SB (8).
  • Juan Herrera singled and walked.
  • Jeremy Schaffer doubled.
  • C.J. McElroy, Charlie Tilson, and Breyvic Valera singled. Tilson also stole his 15th base.
  • Silfredo Garcia allowed 1 run on 3 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts in 5 innings that included 10 groundouts and 2 flyouts.
  • Thomas Lee allowed 3 hits and struck out 5 in 3 innings.
  • Dixon Llorens allowed 2 hits in the ninth inning but also struck out a batter for his 11th save.

WIlliamsport 3, State College 9

  • David Washington was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 walks.
  • Ronald Castillo was 4-for-5 with a double.
  • Luke Voit was 2-for-3 with 2 walks.
  • Carson Kelly and Jimmy Bosco were both 2-for-5.
  • Steven Ramos, Cesar Valera, and Brett Wiley all singled.
  • Arturo Reyes lasted 6 innings that included 8 hits, 3 walks, and just 1 strikeout but limited the damage (2 runs) by pitting 10 groundouts against 2 flyouts.
  • Michael Aldrete allowed an uneared run on 2 hits, 2 walks, and 0 strikeouts in 2 innings.
  • Jacob Booden allowed 1 hit, 2 walks, and struck out 2 in 1 inning.
