The system went 3-2 W-L overall on the night with Johnson City rained out and excluding the two lowest Rookie Ball squads. Memphis barely held on in the ninth with a late night win against Reno. Springfield had stellar pitching from Anthony Ferrara for the second straight outing. Palm Beach lost in extras. Peoria routed with three runs in the eighth to win. State College was out-pitched and were shutdown offensively. Johnson City was rained out.

Memphis 8, Reno 7

  • Jermaine Curtis had single and walked three times.
  • Kolten Wong hit a 3-run jack and had an RBI walk with the bases loaded which totaled for 4 RBI's on the night.
  • Brock Peterson was 3-5 with two RBI's continuing the amazing offensive year at Memphis.
  • Jamie Romak and Justin Christian both had RBI singles.
  • Tyler Lyons allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. The lefty struck out five while walking only one.
  • Keith Butler retired one batter the only batter he faced.
  • Fernando Salas gave up two hits but buckled down and converted the save.

Springfield 4, Midland 2

  • Shane Robinson walked twice in his second rehab game.
  • Stephen Piscotty went big fly with a solo shot his 4th at Springfield. Nice to see some power put up that he hasn't showed much of at Springfield given it's a left-handed power hitting mecca.
  • Cody Stanley collected three hits one for a double in his return back to the lineup after an off-day.
  • Anthony Ferrara pitched 6 1/3 solid innings he gave up one earned on four hits, walked two and struck out four.
  • Jose Almarante pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings with a strikeout to earn the save. The strong-armed Haitian native has struck out 54 batters while walking 16 in 61 innings with a 3.39 ERA between Palm Beach and Springfield. Someone to keep a watchful eye out for he's got live stuff.

Palm Beach 4, St Lucie 5

  • David Popkins is another one whose having an amazing offensive season as he went 2-5 with two doubles and an RBI.
  • Alex Mejia hit an RBI double.
  • Jacob Wilson launched a 2-run shot his 3rd of the season.
  • Ryan Sherriff gave up four earned on six hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Peoria 4, Clinton 2

  • C.J McElroy was 2-5 with a double and triple reminding us of that pure raw speed.
  • Charlie Tilson was 2-5 as well except with an RBI single.
  • Jordan Walton had an RBI double.
  • Bruce Caldwell and Nick Martini contributed RBI singles.
  • Mike Mayers pitched an impressive six scoreless innings allowing only four as he walked one and struck out two in his second start of full-season ball.
  • Thomas Lee and Dixon Llorens pitched clean frames.

State College 1, Brooklyn 2

Johnson City's game was postponed due to rain. Should be made-up apart of a double-header tomorrow.
