Tucson 4, Memphis 2

  • Xavier Scruggs doubled and struck out twice. He also stole his 7th base of the season.
  • Springfield only had 4 hits total. Besides Scruggs' double, Colin Walsh, Stephen Piscotty, and Richard Castillo (yes, the pitcher) singled. Piscotty and Castillo also drew 1 walk apiece.
  • Richard Castillo surrendered 3 runs in 6 innings, all coming on solo homers. He allowed 5 hits total, 1 walk, and struck out 3. All in all, a pretty strange night considering his 11-0 groundout-flyout ratio.
  • Zach Russell allowed 1 unearned run in his inning of work on 1 hit and 1 strikeout.
  • Jose Almarante walked 1 and struck out 1 in the 8th inning.
