Johnson City 7, Princeton 8
- Ronnierd Garcia, 3B, was 2-for-3 with a walk and his 3rd home run of the season.
- Jhohan Acevedo, LF, was 3-for-4.
- Luis Perdomo got the start and was lit up for 7 runs but, amazingly, only 1 was earned. He pitched 3.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 1.
- Stalyn Lopez had a nice outing with 6 strikeouts in 3.1 innings. He walked 1 and allowed 2 hits.
- Michael Holback allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits while striking out 2 in 2 innings of work.
- Garcia and Leandro Mateo, SS, were the culprits with one and two errors respectively in the game.
State College 6, Tri-City 2
- Steve Ramos, CF, was 3-for-4.
- Carson Kelly, 3B, was 2-for-4 with a triple.
- Matthew Young, RF, was 2-for-3.
- Jimmy Reed pitched 5 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits and a walk. He struck out 3.
- Andrew Pierce had the final 4 innings with 1 run allowed on 3 hits. More impressively, he struck out 6.
Palm Beach 2. Clearwater 5
- David Popkins was 2-for-4.
- Jonathan Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.
- Palm Beach used 5 pitchers including starter Hector Hernandez who went just 2 innings. Logan Billbrough was the highlight with 4 strikeouts and 2 hits in 2 innings of work.
Springfield 2, Tulsa 4
- James Ramsey was 2-for-4 with his 14th home run of the season. Ramsey continues to show better than expected power (but as a lefty at Springfield, there's always reason to be skeptical). Ramsey's collected both of Springfield's RBIs with that home run.
- Stephen Piscotty was 0-for-3 with a walk. Piscotty's OPS is in the basement since his promotion to Springfield. Both he and Ramsey have been pushed aggressively through the system.
- Seth Blair had a mixed outing with 6 strikeouts in 6 innings of work but also 3 walks. He was tagged for 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits. Blair's control has seen a remarkable turn around this year cutting his walk rate in half while increasing his strikeout rate. Blair is starting to look like a real prospect again and both he and the organization deserve kudos for that. He was a mess as recently as last year.
- Danny Miranda pitched 2 shutout innings allowing 3 hits and striking out 2.
Memphis 3, Tucson 0
- Adron Chambers was 4-for-4 on the night with his 15th stolen base. He was also picked off first. All of that seems like a very Adron night.
- Greg Garcia was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.
- Michael Wacha was the star of the night with 7 strikeouts in 6 shutout innings. He allowed just 2 hits and didn't walk anyone. Wacha's last 5 starts have phenomenal if somewhat short. He's struck out 33 and walked 3 over 27.1 innings.
