Daily Farm Report - 7/11/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals' farm system.

Memphis 6, Nashville 7

  • Kolten Wong was 1-for-3 with a pair of walks.
  • Brock Peterson was 1-for-4 with a walk and his 22nd home run.
  • Adron Chambers was 4-for-5 with a double and his 6th home run of the season.
  • Nick Additon struck out 5 over 5.1 innings but didn't walk anyone. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits.
  • Victor Marte, in a continuing parade of uselessness, allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in an inning of work. He struck out 2.

Springfield 4, NW Arkansas 3 (13 innings)

  • Xavier Scruggs was 2-for-4 with a pair of walks. If the season ended today, Scruggs would have posted his best offensive season since 2009 in Quad Cities.
  • Cody Stanley was 1-for-5 with his 6th home run of the season.
  • Jake Lemmerman was 0-for-3 but walked 3 times.
  • Anthony Ferrara left the game just 1.2 innings into his start striking out 2.
  • 5 relivers followed Ferrara, each pitching multiple innings. Deryk Hooker struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings and had the best performance of Springfield's pen.

Palm Beach 5, Bradenton 0

  • Colin Walsh was 0-for-3 with a pair of walks.
  • David Popkins was 2-for-4 with a triple and his 5th home run of the season.
  • Jonathan Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a walk and a pair of doubles.
  • Jesus Montero was 2-for-4 with a double and his 1st home run of the season.
  • Zach Petrick struck out 6 in 7.1 innings allowing 1 hit and 2 walks. So far, Petrick's conversion from light's out reliever to starter seems well under way.

Peoria 10, Lansing 3

  • Jeremy Schaffer was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
  • Breyvic Valera and Charlie Tilson both went 3-for-5. Interesting to note that Tilson has ceded centerfield to C.J. McElroy at times.
  • Patrick Wisdom was 2-for-5 with a triple.
  • Joe Cuda struck out 5 in 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk.
  • Sam Tuivailala struck out 2 in an inning of work. He walked 1 and allowed a hit.
  • Michael Aldrete struck out the side in a perfect 9th.

State College 1, Aberdeen 3

  • Steve Ramos, CF, was 3-for-4 with a double.
  • Andrew Pierce allowed 6 hits in 2.2 innings for 3 runs. He walked 1 and struck out 1.
  • Kyle Webb pitched 2 scoreless frames allowing 1 hit and striking out 1.

Johnson City 3, Pulaski 7 (7 innings)

  • Vaughn Bryan, CF, was 4-for-4.
  • Kenneth Peoples-Walls, SS, was 3-for-4 with his second home run of the season.
  • Alexander Reyes was wild walking 5 in 4 innings. He struck out 3 and allowed 1 hit for 2 runs (1 earned).
