Daily Farm Report - 6/7/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals' farm system.

The system goes 3-2 W-L on the night. Carlos Martinez with another step forward to being back to full starters strength. Palm Beach split a double-header. Anthony Garcia went yard twice. Ronald Castillo hit his first full-season home run expect more to come.

Memphis 2, Nashville 1

Memphis offense struggled to capitalize with runners in scoring position they were 3-for-12 as an offense.

Adron Chambers was hitless but produced the only RBI coming from a groundout.

Kolten Wong singled.

Carlos Martinez gave up 6 hits on 1 earned he walked 2 and struck out 4 while throwing 77 pitches in 4 1/3 innings.

Sam Freeman took for Martinez. He gave Memphis 1 2/3 scoreless in relief walked 2 and struck out 1.

Jorge Rondon gave up 3 hits in 2 innings. It took him 30 pitches to complete two.

Victor Marte converted his 11th save of the season in a scoreless 9th.

Springfield 7, Arkansas (16 innings)

Mike O'Neill was 3-6 with 2 walks his usual day at the plate.

Ruben Gotay was 2-5 with a double, 1 HR, 5 RBI's, 3 BB's (one that included a walk-off walk in the 16th).

Xavier Scruggs hit an RBI single.

Nick Longmire was 1-5 with 2 walks in his Springfield debut.

Anthony Ferrara pitched 5 innings allowing 4 hits on 3 earned runs he walked 2 and struck out 4.

Lee Stoppelman walked 3 and struck out 2 in 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

Justin Wright in 2 innings gave up 4 hits on 2 runs 1 earned.

Deryk Hooker and Jose Almarante combined for 6 scoreless innings in extras.

Palm Beach 12, Charlotte 9 (first game)

Colin Walsh was 2-3 with 3 runs scored.

Alex Mejia was 2-4 with an RBI double, RBI single.

Stephen Piscotty contributed a 2-run RBI double.

Anthony Garcia finally starting to heat up. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs 4 RBI's. In Garcia's past 10 games he's hit 5 home runs in his first 44 games he only hit 4 home runs.

Ronald Castillo the big man went 2-4 with a 2-run homer his first full-season shot.

Tyler Melling was roughed up he gave up 7 earned runs in only 2 2/2 of an inning.

Ronnie Shaban pitched 1 2/3 scoreless in relief converting the save.

Palm Beach 0, Charlotte 4 (second game)

Danny Stientstra collected two hits.

Anthony Garcia doubled.

Jay Voss pitched 4 innings while giving up 3 runs 2 earned walked 3 and struck out 1.

Zachary Petrick pitched two innings he gave up 3 hits on 1 run none of them earned and struck out 2.

Peoria 4, Clinton 12

Peoria was in the game until the 8th before Clinton put up a 7 spot.

Jacob Wilson hit an RBI double.

Patrick Wisdom was hitless but walked twice.

Charlie Tilson singled twice.

Carson Kelly hit a solo homer his 2nd of the season.

Kyle Helisek pitched 6 solid innings giving up 8 hits on 3 runs 2 of them were earned walked 1 and struck out 1.

Dixon Llorens struggled mightily to find any control. He only retired one batter walked 4 and gave up 5 earned runs. Odd thing is he didn't even give up a hit.

Robert Stock was scoreless in 1 2/3 innings walked 1 and struck out 1.
