Daily Farm Report - 6/4/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals farm system.

Memphis 2, Omaha 1

  • Jamie Romak was 1-for-4 with a home run.
  • Boone Whiting tossed 5 innings allowing just 1 run on a solo home run. He struck out 5, walked 3 and allowed 3 hits.
  • Jorge Rondon struck out 2 and allowed 2 hits in 2 scoreless innings.
  • Michael Blazek returns to the minors with 2 shutout innings striking out 2.

Springfield 2, Arkansas 4

  • James Ramsey was 1-for-4 with a home run. It was Ramsey's 3rd home run of the season and 2nd at Springfield. After a hot start in Palm Beach, Ramsey has tapered off in Springfield with an OPS under .750.
  • Audry Perez was 2-for-3.
  • Jake Westbrook got the rehab start with 3.2 innings of work and 1 run allowed. He allowed 6 hits and struck out 5.
  • Seth Blair followed Westbrook and took the loss allowing 3 runs (2 earned) in 3 innings of work. He was tagged for 6 hits and walked 1 while striking out 1.
  • Springfield was held to 1 walk and 4 hits in the game.

Palm Beach 4, Tampa 5 (11 innings)

  • Colin Walsh was 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles.
  • Stephen Piscotty reached base 4 times in 6 plate appearances. He walked once and had 3 singles.
  • Anthony Garcia was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run. That's his 5th of the season having hit home runs in back to back games now.
  • Matt Williams was 2-for-4 with a walk.
  • Kurt Heyer was chased from the game after 3 innings. He walked 2 and allowed 6 hits for 4 runs.
  • Zack Petrick threw 3 shutout innings allowing 1 hit and 1 walk. He struck out 2.
  • Ronnie Shaban took the loss allowing a walk off run in the 11th.
