Daily Farm Report - 6/2/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals farm system.

Memphis 7, Omaha 0 (7 innings)

Springfield 2, Midland 0

  • Mike O'Neill was 1-for-3 with a walk. He continues his bizarro, no-power stat line going .330/.447/.391 on the season thus far.
  • James Ramsey was 2-for-2 with a walk and a sacrifice.
  • Thomas Pham was 2-for-4. Interesting that Pham still plays center with Ramsey in the mix.
  • Tim Cooney struck out 6 in 6 scoreless innings. He allowed 5 hits, hit 2 batters and walked 1. Since moving to Springfield, Cooney has 26 strikeouts in 23.1 innings while walking 5. Keep an eye on him.
  • Lee Stoppelman struck out 2 in the 7th. He allowed 1 hit.
  • Deryk Hooker pitched 1.1 innings to close out the game striking out 1.

Palm Beach 1, Fort Myers 8 (6 innings)

  • Nick Longmire was 2-for-2 generating the only run for Palm Beach with a solo shot.
  • Stephen Piscotty was 2-for-3 with a double.
  • Jay Voss was lit up and failed to escape the 1st inning allowing 5 runs.
  • Corey Baker was asked to save the pen pitching 4.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. He struck out 2.
  • Zack Petrick struck out 2 and allowed 1 hit in a scoreless frame.

Peoria 5, Wisconsin 7

  • Breyvic Valera was 2-for-5.
  • Patrick Wisdom was 1-for-3 with a walk.
  • Charlie Tilson was 2-for-4.
  • Nick Martini was 2-for-4 with a double.
  • Hector Hernandez allowed 5 runs in 2.1 innings being chased from the game in the third. He strick out 1 and walked 1 but was tagged for 8 hits.
  • Robert Stock followed up his MWL debut with 3 innings of scoreless baseball allowing 2 hits and striking out 1.
