The system goes 2-2 W-L on the night. Anthony Ferrara was excellent in his outing for Springfield. Robert Stock made his MWL debut.

Memphis 5, Omaha 8

It seems like not hitting with runners in scoring position was the theme tonight in the farm system as Memphis was 3-for-13 with RISP and left 13 on base.

Adron Chambers hit a lead-off home run to begin the game. His 3rd of the season.

Kolten Wong collected 2 more hits as he's now hitting .335.

Brock Peterson was 3-5 with 2 doubles and an RBI.

Jermaine Curtis hit a 2-run shot only his 2nd on the season.

Scott McGregor gave up 12 hits on 5 earned in 5 innings pitched.

Kevin Siegrist had another scoreless outing.

Springfield 3, Midland 2

Mike O'Neill was 2-5 with an RBI single.

Thomas Pham singled once and walked twice.

Luis Mateo smacked an RBI single.

Anthony Ferrara tossed 5 shutout innings he gave up 3 hits and walked 2 while striking out a season-high 8 batters.

Deryk Hooker continues to have an under the radar type season as he struck out the side in the 9th to convert the save for Springfield.

Palm Beach 4, Fort Myers 13

Colin Walsh hit a sac fly while Alex Mejia hit an RBI single.

David Popkins launched a solo shot his 1st of the season.

Anthony Garcia struck out 3 times in 4 at bats. Garcia has been underly disappointing this season as he now struck out 52 times in only 160 at bats and is OPSing .533 that's 300 points lower than his OPS last year. Garcia's strikeout numbers in the past have always been poor but his strikeout numbers this season are gotten a lot worse. I wonder if he changed something in his approach or is just struggling trying adjust to a pitchers paradise league. Figured if he were to adjust he would've made the adjustments before getting in this major funk at the plate.

Nick Longmire was a perfect 4-4 with a double and solo homer.

Tyler Melling gave up 7 earned runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings pitched.

Peoria 8, Wisconsin 1

Peoria was 4-for-20 with RISP but managed to scratch four runs while scratching four more off errors.

Breyvic Valera continues to hit as he goes 3-5 with an RBI double and walk.

Ildemaro Vargas singled twice in 6 at bats.

Jacob Wilson hit an RBI single and walked.

Jordan Walton and Patrick combined to go 2-for-10 with two RBI singles.

Adam Ehrlich was 3-4 with a double.

Joe Cuda went 6 solid innings allowing 7 hits on 1 earned run he walked 1 and struck out 6.

Robert Stock the converted catcher out of USC made his MWL debut and pitched a scoreless inning to start off his 2013 campaign.

Samuel Tuivailala had a nice bounce back outing as he pitched a scoreless inning as well.
