Daily Farm Report - 6/15/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals' farm system.

The system went 2-2 W-L overall on the night. Memphis loses a crazy game which included a brawl with several ejections. Springfield split a game in a double-header with Northwest Arkansas. Stephen Piscotty and Jonathan Rodriguez both went deep contributing for FSL South's win in the FSL All-Star game. Patrick Wisdom does yard work on consecutive nights. Hector Hernandez tossed a quality outing.

Memphis 10, Albuquerque 13

A prototypical score from a game in Albuquerque. This game was a wild one as a brawl broke out with several punches thrown and players & coaches ejected. It was ignited by Jorge Rondon throwing directly at Justin Sellers after giving up a home a run.

Kolten Wong was 1-4 with an RBI and 2 walks.

Oscar Taveras was 1-4 with a sac fly and RBI single.

Brock Peterson continues to stay hot with a 2-3 night that included 2 home runs and 4 RBI's also walked twice.

Ryan Jackson collected 2 hits in 4 at bats.

Travis Tartamella was 2-2 with an RBI and 2 walks.

Maikel Cleto was very erratic he only lasted 3 innings he gave up only 4 hits on 7 earned but walked 8 and struck out 2. Threw a grand total of 90 pitches only 38 of them were for strikes. You would have to think this could wind being his last outing in the Cardinal organization. They've tried over and over again to help resolve his control issues but it's just not working out. One would think he could get an opportunity with another club given he still has upside and a live arm always attracts other clubs.

Jorge Rondon didn't retired a batter he gave up a homer and hit a batter that would eventually ignite the brawl and then Rondon would then be later ejected.

Sam Freeman walked 2 and struck out 4 in 3 scoreless innings. Freeman now has 7 straight scoreless outings.

Marc Rzepczynski was hammered he gave up 5 hits on 5 runs only 2 of them were earned in two innings of work.
