Daily Farm Report - 6/10/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals farm system.

Memphis 4, New Orleans 5

Springfield 3, Tulsa 5

  • Ruben Gotay was 3-for-4. At 30 years old, Gotay is clearly a minor league vet kind of guy. Still, it's worth noting that he's putting up great numbers at AA playing a variety of positions. That kind of yeoman's work style is probably a good thing for the prospects to be around.
  • Audry Perez was 1-for-3 with a walk.
  • Nick Greenwood was tagged for 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 1.
  • Jose Almarante struck out 2 in 1.1 innings. He also stranded 2 inherited runners to get out of a dicey 6th inning which began with Justin Wright.

Palm Beach 4, Dunedin 3

  • Jonathan Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a double and his 3rd home run at Palm Beach.
  • Juan Castillo was 2-for-3.
  • Kurt Heyer was roughed up for 7 hits in 5.1 innings. He held the damage to just 2 runs while walking 1 and striking out 2.
  • Zach Petrick picked up the save allowing 1 hit and 1 unearned run across 2 innings. He struck out 2.

Peoria 5, Quad Cities 1

  • Breyvic Valera was 2-for-4. It's a bit of an empty average but Valera is hitting .326 on the season.
  • Patrick Wisdom was 2-for-4 with a triple.
  • Nick Martini and Jimmy Parque both went 1-for-3 with a walk.
  • Hector Hernandez had 7 strong innings allowing 1 run on 2 walks and 7 hits. He struck out 6 while recording 8 groundouts against 3 airouts.
  • Robert Stock finished off the game with two strikeouts. He relieved Joseph Scanio with 1 out in the 9th and stranded both inherited runners.
