Daily Farm Report - 5/9/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals' farm system.

Memphis 3, Sacramento 5

  • Justin Christian was 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
  • Oscar Taveras was 0-for-4.
  • Greg Garcia was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.
  • Jamie Romak was 2-for-5 with a home run.
  • John Gast's scoreles inning streak came to an end in the 3rd. He lasted just 4 innings allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 1.
  • Sam Freeman and Jorge Rondon both pitched 2 scoreless frames each allowing 2 base runners. Rondon struck out 1.
  • Mitchell Boggs pitched a perfect inning striking out 1.

Springfield: Postponed

Palm Beach 1, St. Lucie 17

  • Palm Beach was a disaster this game. They picked up just 5 hits and 1 walk.
  • The only thing worse was the pitching. Kyle Hald was tagged for 9 runs (8 earned) in just 2.2 innings.
  • Jose Almarante was hit for 6 runs and failed to retire a single batter.

Peoria 5, Beloit 6 (Game 1: 8 innings)

Peoria Game 2: Postponed
