Daily Farm Report - 4/4/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals' farm system.

It was a sad opening night for the Cardinals farm system. Memphis and Palm Beach were both rained out (expect double headers tomorrow). Springfield and Peoria both came up losers with Peoria falling in the 11th inning.

Springfield 2, Corpus Christi 3

Peoria 4, Wisconsin 5 (11 innings)

  • Peoria was 6 for 36 overall but they managed a whopping 10 walks.
  • Breyvic Valera was 0-for-3 with 3 walks.
  • David Washington had a big night going 2-for-2 with 3 walks.and a double.
  • Nick Martini was 0-for-2 with 2 walks.
  • Charlie Tilson was 0-for-5.
  • Kurt Heyer was pulled after 3 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 3.It took Heyer 65 pitches to complete his outing.
  • Dixon Llorens took the loss allowing 1 run in the 11th on 2 walks. He struck out 2. He walked the first batter, followed by a sac bunt and a wild pitch. A fielding error by Patrick Wisdom allowed the run to score and the batter to reach first safely.
