Daily Farm Report - 4/12/13

A daily recap of the minor league players in the Cardinals' farm system.

Memphis 10, Oklahoma City 6

  • Oscar Taveras was 4-for-5 with a double. Taveras' presence in the starting lineup shifted Adron Chambers to right field so Taveras could play centerfield.
  • Brock Peterson was 1-for-4 with a home run and a walk.
  • Jamie Romak was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
  • Ryan Jackson was 4-for-5.
  • Jermaine Curtis was 2-for-5 with a double and a triple.
  • Seth Maness struck out 6 in 6 innings while walking 2. He allowed 8 hits and 1 ER.
  • Maikel Cleto is sporting a 13.50 ERA after allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits and a walk in the 9th. He struck out 2.

Springfield 6, Corpus Christi 3

  • Mike O'Neill was 2-for-3 with a walk.
  • Xavier Scruggs was 2-for-4 with a home run.
  • Tommy Pham was 1-for-3 with a triple.
  • Anthony Ferrara lasted just 4 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. He walked 1 and struck out 4.
  • Kevin Siegrist came in for 2 innings of relief allowing 1 hit and striking out 2.
  • Deryk Hooker struck out the side and walked 1.
  • Keith Butler earned his 3rd save with a 1 walk, 2 strikeout 9th. There's not much in the way of prospects in Springfield. Arguably the most interesting is the bullpen with its cadre of former starters like Siegrist, Hooker and Michael Blazek to go along with closer Keith Butler.

Palm Beach was postponed.

Peoria 4, Quad Cities 1

  • Michael Swinson was 0-for-4 with a walk.
  • Breyvic Valera was 2-for-5.
  • Patrick Wisdom was 1-for-4 with a walk.
  • Jordan Walton was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple.
  • Alex Mejia was 2-for-4 with a double.
  • Kurt Heyer struck out 8 in 5 innings. He allowed 1 unearned run on 4 hits and 2 walks.
  • Joseph Scanio picked up the win with a pair of scoreless frames allowing 1 hit and striking out 3.
