This will be the last spring farm report for 2013. On Thursday, the Cardinals four full season minor league teams -- Memphis, Springfield, Palm Beach and Peoria -- will start their season. Each day we'll provide you with a recap of the action, the probable pitchers and some afternoon analysis about the minor league system and its players and personnel. Stay tuned ...

Memphis 1, New Orleans 0

  • Shelby Miller struck out 7 in 4.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 walk and 4 hits. I'd say that's a pretty good final tune up before the MLB season.
  • Eric Fornataro struck out 2 in a scoreless inning.
  • Jermaine Curtis was 2-for-3 with the games only RBI. (That might be the first time I've mentioned RBIs all spring.)

Springfield 10, Jacksonville 6

  • John Gast struck out 4 in 5 innings. He also suffered a hit parade for 2 runs on 8 hits.
  • Kevin Seigrist was lit up for 4 ER on 3 hits and a walk in just 0.2 innings pitched. He struck out 1.
  • Michael Blazek struck out the side in his inning.
  • Chris Swauger doubled twice and walked in a 3-for-4 outing.
  • Tommy Pham was 2-for-5 with a pair of triples. This is quintessential Pham. Taunt us all spring training with superlative numbers and performances. Break our hearts in the regular season.
  • Audry Perez was 2-for-5.
  • Starlin Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with a double.
  • Adam Melker doubled and walked in a 2-for-4 outing.
  • Xavier Scruggs was 1-for-3 with a double and two walks.

Palm Beach 9, Jupiter 4

Peoria 5, Greensboro 3

  • Joe Cuda allowed 5 hits in 5 innings striking out 3.
  • Zach Petrick struck out 2 in 2 innings and walked 1.
  • Patrick Wisdom was 3-for-5 with 2 doubles. In the Wisdom/Kelly race, I'm betting on Wisdom this season.
  • Breyvic Valera singled and walked.

Extended ST Red 4, Extended ST White 1

  • Anthony Ferrara had a wild final outing with 7 Ks in 6 innings. He walked 3 and allowed 4 hits.
  • Thomas Lee pitched a perfect frame.
  • Jesus Montero was 1-for-2 with a home run. Happy Easter, Jesus.
  • Carson Kelly was 1-for-3 with a home run.
  • Ronald Castillo and Brett Wiley both doubled in a 1-for-2 outing.
