With a win on Wednesday from Adam Wainwright, the Cardinals have a chance to split this four-game set with the Dodgers, as the series wraps up this afternoon.
The Cardinals picked up their 70th win of the season last night, while the Reds and Phillies both lost. The Dodgers and Padres hold on to the two Wild Card spots, with the Reds one game back, the Phillies three games back, and the Cardinals 3 1⁄2 games back.
There’s a lot of drama in the wild card races with three weeks remaining:

The AL Race:
Five teams are separated by 3 games in the loss column.
The NL Race:
Four teams separated by 3 games in the loss column.
In Thursday’s matinee, it’ll be Jake Woodford against Tony Gonsolin, with the first pitch set for 12:15 PM Central at Busch Stadium. After the Dodgers head out, the Reds — who just dropped a series to the Cubs — will come to town for a series that could definitely swing the Wild Card picture.
Have a good day!
