Good morning, everyone!
After taking two of three from the Reds over the weekend, the Cardinals are now 73-69; the Reds are 75-69, and the Padres — who were swept by the Dodgers — are 74-68. You do the math: we’ve got a crowd atop the National League Wild Card standings.
The Dodgers swept the Padres. The Cardinals are one game out of the Wild Card.

You wanted madness. You got it.
The Giants, who are currently riding a seven-game win streak, are leading the West, so it’s the Dodgers who hold that first Wild Card spot. At the start of play on Monday, the Padres and Reds are tied for the second spot (in terms of winning percentage), while the Cardinals are lurking just one game behind. The Phillies are 2 1⁄2 games out, and the Mets are three games back. Speaking of the Mets..
The Cardinals will open a three-game set at Citi Field tonight. It’ll be Adam Wainwright on the mound against Rich Hill in the opener. First pitch from Queens, New York, is set for 6:10 PM Central. The Reds are off tonight, and the Padres will face the Giants in San Francisco.
Have a great day!
