Fresh off a three-game sweep of the Marlins, the Cardinals are back in St. Louis to open a stretch of six home games, starting with the Brewers this afternoon.
In Wednesday’s 7-0 win in Miami, the Cardinals scored their runs in the last three frames. Yadier Molina hit a two-run homer in the seventh, Paul Goldschmidt drove in a run in the eighth, and Dylan Carlson capped things off with a ninth-inning grand slam.
Jack Flaherty rebounded well from his start against this Reds; on Wednesday, Flaherty turned in six innings and held the Marlins to one base hit with six strikeouts. Genesis Cabrera worked the seventh and the eighth, and Jordan Hicks finished things up in the ninth.
In today’s home opener, Adam Wainwright will take the mound against Corbin Burnes and the Brewers. First pitch from Busch is set for 3:15 PM Central time.
