MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at New York Mets Jim Rassol-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Monday, everyone!

We’re just a little over two weeks away from Opening Day, with only a dozen exhibition games remaining.

On Sunday, Matt Carpenter got his first hit of the spring - an RBI double. Jordan Hicks pitched in a game for the first time this spring and was greeted by Mets infielder Luis Guillorme with a 12-minute, 22-pitch battle that ended in a walk; that was the only batter Hicks faced. In Saturday’s game, John Nogowski went 4-for-4 and drove in four runs. And on Friday, Adam Wainwright pitched four scoreless innings against the Astros, and Yadier Molina and Tyler O’Neill homered.

John Gant will make another audition for the starting rotation this afternoon, when he starts against the Nationals at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter. Have a good day!
